Born and raised in New Smyrna Beach, Sylvan McElroy has lived in Southeast Volusia County since 1977, but also has extensive travel experience including more than 30 foreign countries spanning five continents. Sylvan''s primary role with the McElroy Team is providing leadership as well as coordinating marking efforts for our listings, but he also serves as the go-to-guy for all the odds and ends. He enjoys working one-on-one with buyers and sellers to help achieve their real estate goals. He holds a B.S. degree from the University of Florida and has a background in journalism, business and public relations. Becoming a licensed Broker Associate and helping form the McElroy Team was a natural move for McElroy. 'I enjoy working with and helping people and I''m always learning and sharing what I know.' Sylvan is also a certified private pilot as well as an avid surfer/waterman. He volunteers on multiple Board of Realtor committees year to year and was awarded 2014 Realtor of the Year by the New Smyrna Beach Board of Realtors. He has served on the Board of Directors as a director (2015), President Elect (2016), President in 2017, Past President for 2018. He has previously served as chair of MLS, Publicity, Finance and Grievance committees as well as worked as an Ombudsman.
